Get Invovled
There are a variety of ways to get involved with ICC. We welcome all alumni to become engaged at the right level for them.
Firstly, we want to hear from you. Your stories, updates and memories mean the world to us. We can put your stories in our newsletter for current members to read and for alumni to find online. Let us know what you're up to these days, or tell us a story from your co-op years--all stories, whether three words or three pages, are welcome. You can send them to ashley@iccaustin.coop or post them on the Facebook discussion page for ICC Austin. Historical materials, scrapbook pages and photographs are also appreciated.
Second, we're looking for help with our outreach efforts. A strong base of alumni will allow us to create an awesome alumni program that works for you. If you're still in touch with former housemates who might be interested in attending events, joining the Alumni Association, or being on the Alumni Steering Committee with you, spread the word! Tell them about our efforts, share this page with them, or point them towards our Facebook page.
Third, we want to help you reconnect with the co-op community, past and present. ICC has a database of over 3,000 alumni names, an assistant devoted to alumni support and a small budget for events. We would like to help you throw your next get-together.
- Need to find your old housemates?
- Want to have a mixer with current and former co-opers at your old house?
- Do you have a skill, trade or advice that you can share with current co-opers in the form of a workshop or skill-sharing event?
We can help you with that. Just get in touch with the alumni assistant, ashley@iccaustin.coop.
Finally, we're looking for interested Alumni to form a self-sustaining alumni organization steering committee. This committee might do things like:
- plan events
- set and direct an alumni budget composed of alumni association membership fees
- raise funds and choose the recipients of Alumni scholarships for co-opers with financial need, or
- give input to the ICC Board of Directors.
