Staff Job Descriptions
General Administrator:
Staff resource for the Board, ManCom, and the ECC. Hires, trains, and manages other staff members. Implements policies passed by the Board of Directors. Protects ICC from legal liability. Performs duties of other staff members in their absence. Represents ICC to outside entities including universities, city authorities, neighborhood associations, banks, and national coop organizations. Works with the Board Coordinator on planning and goal setting for the future of ICC.
Accounting Administrator:
Staff resource for Finance Committee and house treasurers and is the central accountant for ICC. Handles all aspects of ICC's finances: pays bills, trains treasurers, maintains ledgers, helps with setting the ICC budget. Ties expenses to current budget with board committees, transfers food monthly to house checking accounts, calculates and pays payroll taxes, prepares reports to board of directors, ensures ICC passes annual independent financial audit, develops financial education programs, assists in main office operations and reception.
Member Resources Administrator:
Staff resource to all members and main resource for Education and Membership Committees. Handles all aspects of the leasing process, which includes signing, financial backing, and record-keeping. Serves as main office reception. Answers inquiries from members and prospective members about ICC and occupancy via e-mail, phone, and walk-in. Communicates organizational information to members via email list and maintains email lists and addresses. Helps with advertising and fundraising. Coordinates Co-op Week training for house officers the first week of each semester. Organizes annual trip to NASCO Institute conference. Works with ECC officers to plan twice-yearly general membership meetings. Resource to House Trustees for member issues and conflict resolution. Backup during an emergency if the G.A. is absent.
Facilities Administrator:
Staff resource to the Maintenance and Facilities Committees. Ensures that ICC's buildings in good working order, by performing hands-on maintenance or hiring contractors. Keep up with current building and fire code requirements. Manages annual house upgrade each summer. Oversees any new construction or large remodeling projects. Submits proposed Facilities budget to board of directors annually. Works with house maintenance officers and maintenance committees to develop ICC wide policies for physical improvements and safety. ICC's representative to city inspectors and insurance auditors.
