Board of Directors
ICC's Board of Directors, comprised mostly of ICC members, sets policies for the whole organization. The Board meets at least once a month at a location announced to the general membership in advance. Meeting agendas ("board packets") are posted at each house a few days before the meeting. The board packet contains the proposals and discussion topics set for the meeting as well as minutes from the previous meeting. Older minutes are available in the ICC office.
Any and all ICC members are welcome at the Board meetings to present proposals, participate in discussion, and observe board activities. For more info, see your house Board Representative or contact one of the executive committee coordinators.
Who's on the Board?
The Board of Directors is comprised of the following people:
Board Reps (9)
One representative is elected from each house to serve on the Board of Directors.
Coordinators (7)
Each coordinator is a member of ICC that is elected at the General Membership Meeting each spring. Each coordinator chairs a committee of the board.
- Board Coordinator
- Committee Coordinator
- Financial Coordinator
- Facilities Coordinator
- Membership Coordinator
- Education Coordinator
- Future Asset Development Coordinator
Community Trustees (2)
These two positions are for people who do not live in ICC, so the board can get an outside perspective. Former ICC members usually hold community trustee positions.
Duties of Board Members
Board members are responsible for providing overall direction for the ICC on behalf of the membership. Together they serve as the primary legal body responsible for ICC and work to ensure sound management to achieve ICC's goals. Board members must also communicate with ICC members and represent their concerns to the Board, uphold ICC's rules and policies, and exemplify cooperative decision-making. For a list of specific duties and responsibilities, please refer to the Standing Rules.
